We have chosen to visit Costa Rica to stay at the The Westin Golf Resort & Spa, Playa Conchal for our honeymoon and we can't be more thrilled! Russel hasn't been outside of the US at all and this is a new location for, so we are very much lookng forward to this adventure together!
The idea of having a Honeymoon Registry was a new and exciting idea for us. As we are paying for our wedding and honeymoon entirely by ourselves, we can use all the help we can get!! We want our honeymoon to be as fun, relaxing, and memorable as possible! We believe that each of the things we have registered for here will help it to be all of that and more! |
Looking back, we probably should have met at least 5 years ago... But since that wasn't in the stars for us, we met for the first time at our friends, the Balentine's, Labor Day get-together. We all hung out, talked, ate good food, and played games. During a game of Apples to Apples, apparently there was a bit of flirting that seemed to be noticed by everyone except us. After this party, we became Facebook friends, and discovered that we had over 60 friends in common and had worked at the same place since 2006...
The second time we met was at the Balentine's 2011 Halloween Party. The party was about half-way through when we finally started talking. It was when Russel followed me inside to watch Zombieland (because we LOVE that movie!), sat with me through the entire thing despite the rest of the party, looked around for me like a lost child when I took a restroom break and got caught up talking with friends, and then followed me back outside when I realized that there might be some interest there... The party continued on and we continued talking, and talking, and talking some more until we realized that it was 7am, the party had been over for a while, everyone was gone, and I still had to work at 9:30am (which I was late to).
In order to meet with him a third time, I invited Russel to join me at a "Hoop and Reggae Night" I lead, only to have it cancelled due to cold weather. I was pretty upset about that and very impatient to see him again, so our friend Elizabeth (Balentine) set up a double date for that evening. We had our first "real" date the very next day, and another the next day, and so on and so forth... We officially became a couple on November 11, 2011 (11/11/11) and have been inseparable ever since!
