| | Jeff: We went out just to be with friends. I wasn't looking for anyone, but God had a different plan. I saw her standing there alone and decided I was going to ask her dance. We danced and I when I went to walk away she didn't let go of my hand. i took her phone to exchange numbers, all along having her mind made up that I wasn't going to call. Before the night was over, before we made it home I had already asked her on a date. That was the first time she was wrong in our relationship.
Karen: Hes right, I didn't think he'd call. I went out that night not looking for anyone either, just wanted to only have fun with my friends and my little brother who finally came in town to visit. But, then while sanding alone... He comes over, taps me on my shoulder and says "I can't just leave you here standing all alone". (And he wonders why I thought he was cocky) I am glad that I didn't let this hand go after that first dance , I don't plan on ever letting go of it. | | Jeff: We talked for a week before the first date, the whole week I was trying not to like her because of me having to move back to Dallas. We went out on a Sunday, I picked her up and took her to Changs. I promised her that if she couldn't find a friend to go with her to a certain chick flic that I would take her. So we ended seeing The Vow, kinda of fitting looking back. We may have spent a day apart after that for a few months.
Karen: after being outta the dating seen for so long, you would have thought I would have been more nervous. But, strangely as soon as I got in his truck all of my butterflies flew right away and we just talked and laughed like we had known each other for weeks. We talked about what brought both of us to Austin, his little boy Luke, our jobs, movies and our love country music. | | Jeff : The First I love you was in the middle of our second week of dating, I know after a week too soon. Well it wasn't luckily.
Karen: I remember telling my friend that day, I think I might love this guy, is that crazy? Abd then sure enough.....he told me that night! | | Jeff: I had been thinking about the ring after a couple weeks, got it on the 6th week. Proposed 2 weeks later on April 27th. She didn't have a clue, I planned a day at Hamilton Pool, she was excited. I remember the song on the radio when got out was "Give You A Ring". We walked down the trail towards the pool, heard a lot of people so I went to a knee and asked the question. She was so surprised and in disbelief, she kept asking "are you serious". I love this girl, never looked at the ring and finally realized what I was asking and said "yes!" When she finally did look at the ring she said "oh my God" about 10 times. I think she liked the ring. It was amazing day with a more amazing woman.
Karen: I was in shock. Sometimes I still can't believe it happened. It was the most amazing moment and ill never forget that beautiful day. |
